He was elected as the MP(Member of Parliament) of Nellore seat from 1989-91 which comes under Andhra Pradesh. He was instrumental in developing Schools and shelters for the unprivileged people. He introduced Seenaiah Sena Harijan Wing for the upliftment of the lower sections of the society. ==About== Puchalapalli Penchalaiah was born in a remote village Pamanji in Nellore district in a middle-class family to P. Laksamaiah. He did his schooling in a government board high school which was approximately 10 km from his village. He completed M.A in Political Science from V.R College,Nellore. He got married to Puchalapalli Subbamma at the age of 30 years.
